Matter Up!

Spring is in the air, baseball season is just around the corner, produce is sprouting in the fields…and Fruits & Veggies—More Matters™ is here.

Think more and think green not only for St. Patrick’s Day, but also for meals and snacks. Green cabbage with corned beef is one, but now is also the time when early spring greens are particularly sweet.

Though asparagus has become available nearly year round, spring is when it is likely to be the best price locally. Try dark green veggies like broccoli, bok choy, spinach and romaine three times a week.

And don’t forget fruits. Kiwis are a unique green fruit. They make a tasty snack with lots of vitamin C and are a source of potassium.
